Story Line


A gentle giant and the girl who raised her are caught in the crossfire between animal activism, corporate greed and scientific ethics.


To the girl who raised her, this massive creature is family.


And there's no way big business is turning her into food.

Korean genius director Bong Joon-ho and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment production company distributed by Netflix original movie.


The movie was competed for the coveted Palme d’Or award at the 70th Cannes Film Festival.


Hero young girl named Mija is Korean. She can speaks Korean however almost all the other cast members are Americans.


Therefore, in the movie using a lot of English conversations.


The tile of Okja, the story of genetically-modified super pig. From the movie you can see the super pig and it seems delicious meat. Therefore, the corporation try to capture Okja.


Mija just wants to live together with the super pig.


The Animal Welfare Organization also involved in the story. At first glance, it looks like the story about the girl adores one such a super pig.


Throughout the movie there are scenes reminiscent of capitalism of society today.


The movie included not just simple story.



The Cannes Best Film Award was missed out but still the movie is not just entertaining, it is though-provoking movie. Even though Okja is CG animal but looks real existence.


Tilda Swinton one of the most extraordinary actress roles in the movies called「The Chronicles of Narnia」「Doctor Strange」also the cast member of Okja.


Her unique characteristics is one of the highlight of this movie.
